Metal Garden Sculptures and Potted Plants

Adding metal sculptures to a garden is a lot like container gardening.

Container gardening is very popular because it allows you to add color and interest to any part of your garden. As the seasons change, you can change the plants in your pots and move them around to bring new life to a dull spot. Metal garden sculptures give you the same flexibility.

Place a sitting cat on the fence or move to the garden and let it peak through the bushes.  The alligator by the pond can move to your porch when the snow comes.  Add a playful arrangement of children or animals and bring a smile to your visitors faces.

From statuesque bronzes to recycled metal art the possibilities are endless. So many creative imaginative artists are working with all forms of metal that you are sure to find a metal garden sculpture to liven up your decor.

Recycled Metal Art by Dog Bite Steel

Dog Bite Steel artist Jean Pierre Schoss creates metal garden art from recycled steel.

On a beautiful sunny day last June, I visited Jean Pierre's studio/farm in Uxbridge, Ontario. Already a fan of his work, I knew I would find a lot of wonderful art, however I did not expect to be as enchanted as I was. As I wandered around his studio I felt like a kid in a candy store!

Everywhere I turned there were structures of all shapes and sizes constructed from various types of recycled metal, including bicycle parts, farm implements and steel oil drums. From the ten foot moose to the multi-color fish and the dogs and bunnies with bones, Jean Pierre Schoss' fun, funky metal art will put a smile on every face.

Metal Garden Art For Your Four Seasons Garden

adameve1Spring is in the air, flowers are starting to bloom and the garden centers are stocking their shelves. Time to start planning your four seasons garden. One way to add some year round interest to your yard is with metal garden art.

Metal is the perfect material for outdoor art because of its versatility and durability.  Because of the various materials, finishes and colors available, metal garden art appeals to all, from the connoisseur looking for a stylish nouveau art piece, to the environmentalist looking for a recycled metal sculpture that will complement the natural elements.

For the modern look, large wrought iron or steel structures with clean lines make a striking focal point. Alternatively, recycled metal is being used to make unique, fun and quirky art.

Steel which is commonly for metal garden art can be painted, varnished or left to rust. Some artists combine non-rusting metal with rusted metal for a truly original look. Iron trellises are often designed by artists and can stand on their own as works of art.

For the higher end market, bronze garden sculptures add beauty and class and will last for decades.

So when planning your four seasons garden don't forget the metal garden art!
